Technicians are an integral part of pharmacy workflow in Florida and help free pharmacists to focus on clinical responsibilities such as drug-utilization review, counseling, and patient testing. The role does not include clinical judgment about medication selection, but technicians often catch potential errors before they reach a patient.
Licensing in Florida
To register as a pharmacy technician in Florida, an applicant must be at least 17, hold a high school diploma or GED, complete a Board-approved training program, and submit a registration application with fingerprints.
