Since the Physician Payments Sunshine Act took effect, CMS has published annual disclosures of industry payments to physicians and teaching hospitals. This analysis tracks national trends in total payment amounts, number of physicians receiving payments, and number of companies making payments from 2018 through 2024. Over this period, the database records $16,410,734,491 in total industry payments.
